Event Reviews

Jonathan Bourne Public Library

10/14/23

Our first event on Cape Cod (“down the cape”) was incredible- our biggest turnout yet! The crowd was due to such great promotion from the library and local news articles, like this one, in the Bourne Enterprise.

Brockton, MA Public Library

9/9/23

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to give a HUGE shout out to the Brockton Public Library’s latest programmer Plant Guy Eric! Eric is a Cannabis Cultivation Consultant with YEARS of experience. His program today was the Happy Harvesting program which was an informative, fun, and interactive program about properly harvesting, drying and curing your homegrown cannabis. Eric himself is a knowledgeable, friendly and talkative man who will happily answer the questions you have about his program, and about the growing and harvesting process of cannabis.

He would be a more than phenomenal addition to any library’s programmers! He’s been back for the second time and we look forward to having him again in the spring!

Best to All,

Nicole O’Brien

Email sent to Massachusetts Librarians:

Hello,  I want to recommend Plant Guy Eric for programming for your libraries. He and Lisa did an informed, engaging presentation at our Library. We had been looking for cannabis-related programming for our Library for some time because of the local interest related to this topic.

Eric and Lisa delivered an engaging mix of presentation and hands-on activities that used a variety of formats to walk us through soil to seed to harvest. Eric added his personal story and how growing cannabis has become his passion. His passion translated into a program that had attendees engrossed and asking questions even after the program had ended.

I’ve heard that they are at work on creating other programs that will give greater detail to other aspects of cannabis cultivation. We look forward to inviting them back for future programming.

Our First Library Event!

“Enough people asked for an update about [Plant Guy Eric] that I’m just going to reply all. I personally enjoyed his presentation enough to join his facebook group, so take everything else I say with a grain of salt, maybe? He brought quite a display, including plants, books, fertilizers, lights, and a grow dome. He also did some plant pruning and trimming live, which was neat. He is passionate, knowledgeable, and happy to share what he knows. His presentation was an hour long and afterward he answered patron questions for an additional 30 minutes (when I had to close the Library). Our attendance was 6, but that’s pretty good for an adult program in Douglas.

Thanks for reading,”

“We had Eric here last night in Barre and I wanted to second what Justin said in his earlier email. Eric was great and I highly recommend having him for a presentation if you’re interested. He definitely has a great passion for what he does and he spent time and care in answering all the questions from our patrons. In fact, he was still in the parking lot chatting to a couple when library staff left for the night.

We had 8 people turn up, which was a good number for us. Eric’s fee was quite reasonable as well. I know he is excited to share his knowledge with more people and would love to go to more libraries.”

Review posted to the statewide library listserv:

“Afternoon everyone!

A while ago, there was some buzz about the Let’s Get Growing with Plant Guy Eric program and I gotta say: they live up to the hype!

We just had them this morning at the Northborough Free Library and we had a great turnout! Lisa and Eric are incredibly personable, entertaining, and ready to share their knowledge with you. They’re easy to work with and require only a few things for setup. Here’s some high points:

1. They bring all the things to educate: They bring everything from different types of seeds that best suit your needs, best types of soil, stuff you need to get started, etc. Eric also brings full grown plants to show you what they look like, how you get from seedling to full plant, etc.

2. Attentiveness to attendees: Eric also dissects what your specific needs are and how to get you there – safely and legally. He takes the time to teach the group as well as speak with everyone one-on-one after the program.

3. Erasing the stigma: There’s still a stigma surrounding marijuana that programs like this help to dispel. Eric and Lisa do an incredible job at handling questions and concerns, supporting their responses with facts.

I can’t recommend this program enough to libraries who have patrons that’re interested in this topic.”

“Hi Lisa and Eric!

I am still getting thanks from those that attended the program or saw it and wanted to know how it went because they could not attend. It was so nice to meet you two and what energy and positive comments about the library and set up. Let’s do it again – maybe in the fall for those inside growers with a  long winter ahead.

Thanks again and Happy Growing!”

“We had Eric here on Saturday and I would 100% have him come here again. He was great, even 5 minutes before the event was scheduled to begin and it looked like the audience would be me. But, we had 10 people come out, which is a great turn out for Millville. I guess it’s a popular subject.”
